A preliminary investigation into fraud with social relief of distress (SRD) grants has found “vulnerabilities [that] create opportunities for attackers to exploit weak points” in the South African Social Security Agency’s (SASSA) system, vindicating to two students who found irregularities with the SRD system and blew the whistle.
