Two Gauteng traffic police officers, a male and a female, have been found shot dead.

In the early hours of Saturday, authorities were called to Debonairpark in the Sedibeng District where the shooting occurred.

They reported that upon arrival, ER24 paramedics had already declared both officers dead, their bodies lying on the street, covered.

Firearms were found next to each body.

According to reports, the couple, who were both traffic officers, were attending an after tears where they quarrelled and went outside, where gunshots were later heard.

One officer sustained four gunshot wounds, while the other had a single gunshot wound to the head.

Eight bullet casings were found at the scene.

Gauteng police spokesperson Noxolo Kweza confirmed the incident, stating: “I can confirm that De Deur police are investigating murder and suicide dockets after two traffic police members were found dead. Their bodies were found in the street.”
