The South African Weather Service has warned of severe thunderstorms that may result in damage to property and localised flooding in some parts of the Eastern Cape. 

Impact-based warnings

Yellow Level 1 warning: Severe thunderstorms resulting in damage to property and localised flooding are expected in places over the Buffalo City District Municipality as well as Ndlambe and Ngqushwa local municipalities.

The weather in your region 

Gauteng will be partly cloudy and cool. The expected UVB sunburn index is very high. 

Morning fog patches are expected in places over the southern escarpment of Mpumalanga, otherwise it will be partly cloudy and cool to cold but warm in the Lowveld.

Limpopo will be partly cloudy and cool to warm.

Fine and cool to warm becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers conditions are expected in the west of North West in the afternoon.

Free State will be partly cloudy and cool with isolated showers to scattered showers in the west.

Morning fog is expected along the coast and adjacent interior of Northern Cape, otherwise it will be partly cloudy and cool to warm but cold in the south, with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate northerly to north-westerly.

Western Cape will have morning fog patches in the west and south, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to cold with isolated showers and thundershowers over the north-eastern interior.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-westerly along the south coast, otherwise light to moderate northerly to north-easterly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is low.

Western half of the Eastern Cape will be cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in places along the coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to north-easterly.

The eastern half of the province will be cloudy and cool with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers in the west but widespread along the coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal will be fine and warm, but cool in the west. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly. The expected UVB sunburn index is high.
