Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rhulani Mokwena apologised to the club’s supporters for the team’s failure to get a second CAF Champions League title, taking full responsibility of their 2-0 loss on aggregate to Esperance in the semi-final.

“We were just not ruthless enough in taking our chances,” said Mokwena.

“I am very proud of the players, though. I am very proud to be their coach. This is an opportunity also to apologise to Sundowns’ supporters for the bad result, and a result that I hope they are aware that we feel it as badly as they do.”
