The uMkhonto we Sizwe Party has sparked the ire of the LGBTQI community after posting a promo on social media of merchandise emblazoned with the MKP logo and a pride flag. The latest saga follows hot on the heels of former president Jacob Zuma, and leader of the MKP, recently upsetting the community with his comments.

LGBTQI influencer Ntombeningi Sabelo Sithole, who hails from KwaZulu-Natal, is at the centre of a social media maelstrom after posing with Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe Party regalia, which bears the pride flag.

This comes after a gender rights groups, in January, warned politicians against exploiting the rights of minority groups for “cheap political gain” after Zuma reportedly attacked the LGBTQI community.
