One of two men arrested for stock theft in KwaZulu-Natal is an IFP
councillor. The men were arrested in a community that is ravaged by killings
related to the crime.

News24 previously reported that the arrest comes as KwaZulu-Natal
farmers complain that their cows are being stolen and sold to the shisanyama
market.

Provincial police spokesperson Constable Siyabonga Nkwanyana confirmed
that councillor Dumisani Xaba and another suspect were arrested for possession
of suspected stolen stock (cattle) by an uMzinyathi district police officer in
the KwaSithole area, which falls under the Dundee policing precinct.
