Firefighters rushed to Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Facility in Pretoria to put out a blaze at a staff housing precinct on Thursday afternoon.

They were notified about the blaze at around 15:15, City of Tshwane Emergency Services spokesperson Charles Mabaso said.

At the scene, they found four buildings, consisting of 10 homes, in flames.
