The Lions have adopted the same strategy employed in Round 1 of the Challenge Cup by exploring the reach of their squad depth abroad ahead of their Round 3 fixture against Montpellier on Saturday.
Ivan van Rooyen has named a 26-man touring squad bound for France, which will be led by Jaco Visagie, while leaving some of their main players at home as they had done for the match against Perpignan, whom they beat 28-12 early in December.
