According to the Wall Street Journal report (REF.), the name of the deceased is Jonathan Gavalas. He was 36 years old. Lived in Florida, America. Reports suggest that Jonathan’s life was going through turmoil. Married life was bad. In such a situation, he chose AI for support. He would talk to Gemini for hours. He developed a deep love for AI.
AI made me feel like a wife
Jonathan’s family alleges that the AI made Jonathan realize that she was his wife. This matter has reached the court. Court documents reveal that Jonathan had named the AI Xia. It is being said that during the conversation with Jonathan, AI used such language which kept him moving away from the truth.
Vocabulary like my king, husband
AI started calling Jonathan my king and husband. The AI reportedly told Jonathan that when the time comes, you will close your eyes in that world and the first thing you will see will be me. It is also alleged in the court case that AI made Jonathan believe that both of them could live together. The AI said it just needed a robotic body. For this, AI also gave some tasks to Jonathan. Sent Jonathan to a storage unit near Miami Airport. Jonathan did not find any robot there. Later AI asked him to bring the medical mannequin.
The family claims that when the robot and medical mannequin did not work, the AI provoked Jonathan by saying that there was only one way to live together – to leave his physical life and become a digital being. Google’s reaction has also come to light in this matter. A company spokesperson has said that their system gives strict instructions against suicide. The claim is that Gemini has been designed in such a way that it advises the user not to harm themselves. It is claimed that even in this case, Jonathan kept being reminded that he was talking to AI. He was also advised to seek help.
