The Mayor of KwaDukuza, Mr. Sduduzo Gumede, has revealed the overcrowding of hospitals in Lembe District.

He revealed this as he was speaking after the Transnet medical train, Phelophepa 1, was received.

This type of train focuses more on health. We don’t stay together, we usually travel to different parts of the country.

It has been seven full years since we last arrived at Kwa Dukuza. Speaking here, Gumede said they were very happy to see this train again after a long time.

He said that we are playing a major role in reducing the burden as he pointed out that many hospitals in the area are already full.

“It is a great help that the presence of this train really reduces the burden on our local hospitals,” he said.

Since this train will be there for two full weeks, he challenged the people of KwaDukuza to go on it so that they can take advantage of it.

He continued to urge men to take action and not be reluctant when it comes to going to health centers.

“We need men who are diligent to go to health centers early,” he said.

He said he was impressed by the good relationship he said exists between the municipality and Trasnsnet. This relationship he said benefits the community in different ways.

Mr. Bheki Mendlula from Transnet said they were happy with the return of this train to Dukuza after a very long time.

He pointed out that this train has helped approximately 19 million patients since it was established in 1994.

He said that they are very proud of it because it has made a difference to many people. He said that he believes that there are many people who can benefit from this program as long as they are determined to go to the health centers themselves.

He explained in both ways that this type of train is where the immigrants are able to get good care.

He said that it is nonsense that their train prioritizes the care of the new arrivals.

The public applauded the return of this program. Another member of the community Mrs. Ntombikayise Nxumalo said they were impressed by the return of the train.

It said that they believe that there are many people who will benefit from the various diseases they are facing.
