INTOKAZI Mthwalume, who is the founder of Eve’s Eatery Cuisine, says she is determined to put her neighborhood on the map so that tourists from foreign countries can finally reach the rural areas under Gu.

Amanda Eve Mseleku (35) from Mpompini, has a teaching and cooking degree from the Capsicum Culinary School. When he was growing up, his dream was to change the situation of his life with the aim of having the power to do something for his community to improve it.

“We all know that the youth of this country are plagued by problems that eventually lead them to become bored in life, and indulge in drugs and alcohol. Even the dreams they had disappeared as if they had no interest in life. When I decided to open this place, I did not only intend to sell and make money to please myself but my main goal was to create job opportunities as today I have more than 20 employees.”

He said: “In that number there are those who are fully employed and there are also those who are part-time. Even though I encounter problems, there is nothing that makes me feel free like realizing my dream of years to play a role in rescuing young people from the problems of lack of work, which is also what puts food on the table.”

He revealed that what he has done is just the beginning, as he is currently busy organizing the Umzumbe Maskandi Festival which will be held at the Sibanini grounds on June 16. With this event, he aims to promote local artists. He also intends to create other job opportunities for those who are unemployed in his area and in the areas surrounding Mthwalume.

This lady, who has been honored with various awards including theYoung Entrepreneur of the Year, Community Leader of the Year, Best NPO of the Year, Social Enterprise of the Year and others, he said that foreign tourists will end up respecting Mthalume area like all high quality places that are very popular.

It also made it clear that there is a lot that the youth will benefit from at the masquerade event as it will not only be an event to celebrate masquerade artists.

“We will also raise awareness among young people about the dangers of getting involved with drugs, alcohol and pregnancy among young people when they are not ready to conceive. I preached this word a lot while I was running with the Department of Social Development, and I still work a lot with the organization I founded years ago, EYODO.”

He also appealed to businessmen who cannot contribute to the event he is organizing to come closer to put their heads together with the funding they can help with.
