A delay in the announcement of the government of national unity (GNU) Cabinet is affecting the work of Parliament.

Following the establishment of the seventh Parliament two weeks ago, the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) have started setting up its structures and committees.

But, with the uncertainty of when the Cabinet announcement will be made, MPs are somewhat in limbo. It is still unclear who will remain in the parliamentary benches and who will take up ministerial positions.
