Allan Boesak joins advocates Anwar Albertus, Salim Banderker and Sheriff Mahomad, among others, in a show of support for SA’s legal team at the ICJ.
A small group of Cape Town lawyers gathered on the steps of the Western Cape High Court on Thursday to support their “learned friends” who are arguing South Africa’s case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Addressing the group of Palestine flag-waving supporters, who have been taking part in vigils and pickets across the city, advocate Anwar Albertus said the lawyers “stand vigorously” with South Africa’s legal team.
“In the circumstances, South Africa’s recourse to the ICJ, is based exclusively on humanitarian grounds,” he added.
