The DA is eyeing 11 Cabinet positions and their deputies, along with directors-general in the departments it gains, and the “reviewing” of all tenders for those departments since the president promulgated the election.

This is according to a letter, seen by News24, to ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula, sent by DA federal executive chairperson Helen Zille on Sunday morning.

Since the letter’s arrival, the talks to form a national government of unity (GNU) have hit a brick wall, prompting a high-level meeting between President Cyril Ramaphosa and DA leader John Steenhuisen.
