The mural in Lavender Hill.
Ebrahiem Freeman, of Lavender Hill in Cape Town, said he was sick of seeing swear words, gang signs and bloodstains in Wicht Court and decided to replace it with a mural of the Palestine flag on Monday morning.
Freeman, 60, said he was “gatvol” that the walls of houses in the suburb were covered in the type of graffiti he did not want his grandchildren to see.
The Palestinian flag, which took more than four hours to paint, went viral on social media, with many applauding Freeman’s artwork.
