Rassie Erasmus’ selection strategy for the first Ireland Test sets up the series as the ultimate heavyweight battle, writes Lloyd Burnard. 

There will be times to experiment and provide opportunities to new combinations and players, but a home series against Ireland is not that time for the Springboks.

That was the very clear message from Rassie Erasmus’ team selection for Saturday’s first of two clashes between the sides – ranked No 1 and No 2 in the world – at Loftus on Saturday.
