Eskom has “broken off” talks with the City of Cape Town to transfer electricity supply areas to the metro.
According to a statement issued by the city on Monday, two weeks ago, it was notified in a letter from Eskom general manager Mbulelo Yedwa that the power utility’s executive management did not support the transfer.
“The proposed request regarding the transfer of specific Eskom supply areas to the City of Cape Town was discussed and unfortunately, it was not supported.
