After 118 years occupying a property in Arcadia in East London, the historic East London Bowling Club has been compelled to move after ongoing disagreements with the municipality’s tenant.
The property has been leased out by the Buffalo City Metro to the chairperson of Chippa United Football Club, Siviwe Chippa Mpengesi, who has been at loggerheads with the bowling club over the management of the facility.
Mpengesi reached a settlement agreement with the East London Bowling Club this week, to vacate the premises, and stressed that the club was welcome to use the premises if it would agree to his transformation agenda.
