Western Cape Premier Alan Winde (Lameez Omarjee/News24).
With several political newcomers fishing in the DA’s Western Cape pond, premier candidate Alan Winde conceded the party’s support could drop to levels not seen in the last two decades of governance.
Winde’s goal over the next three weeks is simple: to get the DA in the Western Cape over the 51% line – the minimum to retain governance of the province.
In an interview with News24, Winde said his main target was to get 50% plus one, given the threat of new parties contesting the province.
