ANC deputy secretary-general Nomvula Mokonyane says a “concentration of contestation” and the attraction of a massive voter pool in KwaZulu-Natal informed the ANC national executive committee (NEC) members’ decision to swarm the province on the campaign trail.
A number of senior NEC members have descended on the province in one of the last legs of the ANC’s campaign to coax its voter base to remain with the party.
Speaking to News24 on the sidelines of her campaign in the midlands, Mokonyane said the ANC NEC visit is underpinned by a strategy that includes targeting voting districts, not regions.
