The latest fuel prices came into effect on Wednesday. It is estimated that the partial reduction in the fuel levy granted by the finance minister will mean approximately R6 billion in lost tax revenue for the one month period.

It was not immediately clear how this money would be collected again. Some experts are also not convinced that the reduction was a smart decision. Read everything here:

Zané de Jager, a grade 11 learner at Waterkloof High School in Pretoria, died unexpectedly on Wednesday at the Thaba fieldwork camp. The cause of her death was not immediately known. The main management of the Voortrekkers described Zané’s death as an “indescribable loss”. Read the report here.
