A senior official in the Eastern Cape Department of Health has been arrested for fraud.
The official handed himself over to a team of detectives at the Hawks offices in East London.
Hawks Eastern Cape spokesperson Warrant Officer Ndiphiwe Mhlakuvana confirmed the arrest saying: “He’s facing allegations of fraud, forgery and uttering. He is due to appear at the Zwelitsha Magistrate’s Court today [Wednesday].”
