Eastern Cape police are probing the deaths of three women who were killed in separate incidents including one where the suspect is a police officer and boyfriend of the victim and another where the suspect is an ex-boyfriend of the victim.

The deaths come as the Eastern Cape Department of Social Development announced that eight women were killed in just three weeks.

Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said it is alleged that just after 20:00 on Sunday, while on duty, the constable, 34, who was stationed at the Bell Police Station, entered a local tavern in Wesley.
