The Durban Magistrate’s Court has heard that murder-accused Grayson Beare is fit to stand trial after his case was adjourned last week for the accused to undergo a mental assessment.

Beare, 44, allegedly stabbed 46-year-old Halima Hoosen-Preston 15 times at her home in the Durban central suburb of Glenwood in the early hours of Sunday, 2 June.

In a video clip that went viral on social media, Beare was seen seemingly confirming that he killed the mother of two because of her support for Palestine.

The matter has been adjourned until 11 July for a formal bail application.
