MAMELODI Sundowns put themselves in danger of missing out on the Betway Premiership title after being beaten by TS Galaxy 3-2 in the league at Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit, on Tuesday night

Galaxy’s goals were scored by Victor Letsoalo which was a penalty, Sedwyn George in the first half, and Mpho Mvelase in the second. The Sundonwns were beaten by Bryan Leon both times in the first half including the penalty which he scored a few minutes before the break.

This means that Zimnyama, who are in second place with 65 points, need to beat Durban City on Saturday at the Orlando Amstel Arena, Soweto, to claim the league title. If they fail then they have another chance as they will face Orbit College on May 23. .

Although Sundowns made changes back in this game, they started Kegan Johannes in place of Khulumani Ndamane who made mistakes in Saturday’s game, winning 7-4 against Siwelele, but they again showed their weakness.

As soon as they came back from the break, Galaxy scored the third goal when Mvelase got the ball unmarked in the 46th minute.

After Sundowns conceded the third goal, they made quick changes and brought Ndamane back to the back wall to replace Grant Kekana, and put Tashreeq Mathews and Miguele Reisinho in the places of Arthur Sales and Marcelo Allende. However, this did not make a difference since the Galaxy managed to score until the end of the game.

Sandawana will play against Esperance in the first leg of the Caf Champions League finals on Sunday at 4 pm.
