The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has notified consumers that Mercedes-Benz South Africa is recalling five G-Class vehicles, the G580 model.
According to the commission, these vehicles are already in the possession of end consumers in South Africa.
Mercedes-Benz has indicated that the vehicles in question may have wheel bolts that do not meet the required specifications. The problem can lead to the wheel connection loosening over time while driving.
According to the commission, this can impair the vehicle’s driving stability and increase the risk of an accident.
Consumers affected by the recall are urged to take the matter seriously and make arrangements for the necessary inspection and repairs at their nearest authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. Owners can visit Mercedes-Benz South Africa’s website to check their vehicle’s details, or contact their nearest authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer to confirm if their vehicle is affected by the recall.
All corrections related to the recall will be made free of charge to consumers.
Inquiries about the recall can proceed (email protected) be directed.
