A company’s urgent bid to interdict the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) from terminating its service level agreement (SLA) suffered a serious setback after the Western Cape High Court struck the case from the roll “for lack of urgency”.

Judge Thandazwa Ndita, who handed down the ruling on 12 June, ordered eZaga Holdings to pay NSFAS and the Special Investigating Unit’s (SIU) legal costs, as well as the costs of two counsel.

The case will be enrolled on a non-urgent basis.
