- Social media users have weighed in on the news while blasting him for “betraying” his family.
Dave Grohl, frontman of the Foo Fighters and former drummer for the iconic band Nirvana, is on his knees and begging for forgiveness after fathering a love child.
Taking to Instagram this week, the 55-year-old rock musician dropped the bombshell on millions of followers.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl said in the surprise statement.
Grohl also made it clear that he would be a present parent for his new child by adding, “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”
Grohl married wife Jordyn Blum in 2003. The pair have three children together—Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10. In his surprising Instagram statement, he begged them for forgiveness while thanking his fans for their consideration.

He wrote, “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved as we move forward together.”
Anticipating backlash, the musician rushed to turn off his comments section but could not wholly avoid trending.
“So Dave Grohl cheated on his wife of over 20 years and now fathered a baby with his mistress. My opinion of him plummeted after his self-righteous attitude over vaccine mandates, yet it seems it can still drop further. Foo Fighters have had no luck since then. What a mess,” one X user wrote.
Another added, “Dave Grohl is having a child out of wedlock and announced it like a football team firing its coach lol.”
