Cricket SA board chair Lawson Naidoo has hit back against growing criticism and accusations of antisemitism levelled at the cricket body for removing David Teeger from the captaincy of the country’s Under 19 squad.
Naidoo said while some had charged that CSA’s action was “punishment for [Teeger] and his remarks on the Israeli Defence Force, it is not. This is a different issue now”.
He said that while Teeger was “obviously disappointed” about his removal, he “understands the bigger picture”.
