The ANC’s national executive committee (NEC) could emerge with a completely new approach to constituting a government because “nothing is cast in stone”.
ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula told journalists on Thursday that the NEC, presently locked in a meeting at Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg, would explore all available options towards forming a government.
“Talks about talks continue. We are now moving to a stage having received a mandate from the NEC to hard negotiations, and then where we look at the options, including the technicalities, because the government of national unity we talk about might be different from 1994. The devil is in the detail.
