Health screening services and health education on cholera will be intensified at land ports of entry.
The Department of Health has implemented screening measures for people entering South Africa from Zimbabwe through the Beitbridge border following an outbreak of cholera in the neighbouring country.
This after 200 people were reported to have died from the diarrheal illness in Zimbabwe.
In July 2023, 47 people died of cholera in South Africa.
