ALTHOUGH Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Miguel Cardoso, is planning well that they will face Kaizer Chiefs who are well rested, but this does not mean that they will soften from the scheme with which they will start the game to the way they will be attacking.

Cardoso said this to the media following the extension of his own gap at the top of the Betway Premiership log with the excellent result they got against Polokwane City on Sunday afternoon at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Sundowns, who have three league games left, are eight points short of winning their ninth title in a row.

Bafana Ba’Style’s path must go through the Chiefs who they will play against on Wednesday at 7.30 pm at the same stadium in Pretoria (Loftus Versveld).

The result of this match between Sundowns and Chiefs is eagerly awaited since they are tied with Orlando Pirates who are in second place on the log and with a game left they consider it to be their last hope for the title.

“Although I have been focusing on Polokwane for the past few days, the team’s scouts have gathered all the information we need to get a result in our favor against Chiefs,” said Cardoso in a press conference.

“We cannot escape from the fact that we are facing a team that is considered to be the biggest in the next game, so we are forced to go to them with respect.

“The respect with which we will go to the Chiefs does not mean that we will humble ourselves in this game or that we will reduce the way we attack these days.

“The situation we are in forces us to score a barrage of goals no matter which team is placed in front of us.

“It is also important to note that in the past few days we were busy with difficult and important games but the Chiefs had every opportunity to prepare for us as they ended up on the field with the Siwelele FC match (in April).

“There is no sign of hiding that the games are close because we are in the books of Sundowns, so when this game with Chiefs is over, I will look at the three points left for us since we are also playing at home,” said Cardoso.
