There was good news for Springbok fans on Wednesday as captain Siya Kolisi was training with the squad at Cape Town Stadium ahead of Saturday’s Test match against the All Blacks.

Kolisi has been a major doubt for the fixture after leaving the field at Ellis Park this past weekend having suffered a nasty knock to the face from Sam Cane.

Kolisi’s face was badly swollen in the aftermath, but that swelling had come down significantly by Wednesday and he was on the field with the squad to train, suggesting he is now fit and available to be picked.

Wing Kurt-Lee Arendse, meanwhile, watched the session from the touchlines as he continues to recover from the head knock that saw him removed from the action in Johannesburg.

Other notable members going through their paces included Steven Kitshoff, Salmaan Moerat and Canan Moodie, who could all be in line for a return to the squad.

The Boks will name their match-day 23 on Thursday morning.

The Test match, meanwhile, is sold out.

If the Boks win, they will have won all four of their matches in the 2024 Rugby Championship so far and will be within touching distance of winning their first title since 2019.

Kick-off is at 17:00.
