JSE-listed Bytes Technology Group (BTG), a former subsidiary of Altron, said on Thursday its net cash pile and major public sector contract wins, including with the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), helped deliver income growth of a quarter in its year to end February.

Gross invoiced income rose 26% to £1.8 billion (R42 billion) to end February, Bytes reported on Thursday, with profit lifting just over 16% to almost £47 million (R1.1 billion).

The “exceptional level of growth” was underpinned by strategically important contract wins in the public sector, notably with the NHS and His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, the UK’s tax authority, and by continued demand from corporate customers.
