Muizenberg police registered an inquest for further investigation into the drowning of a 16-year-old boy on Saturday.
Western Cape police have registered an inquest docket after a 16-year-old boy drowned at Muizenberg Beach on Saturday morning.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said police responded to a distressed person’s call, and when they arrived on the scene, they found medical personnel attending to the boy.
“The victim was later declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel,” said Swartbooi.
Muizenberg police registered an inquest for further investigation. They appeal to anyone with information to call Crime Stop at 08600 1011.
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) said they were still on the scene and would release a statement shortly.
