At least 25 people have been murdered across the Eastern Cape since the start of June, with 13 murders being committed in Nelson Mandela Bay.

Residents said they lived in fear as violent crime continued to soar, particularly in the Bay, where the majority of the murders were recorded.

Small towns like Port Alfred, Tsolo, Stutterheim, Bedford, Fort Beaufort, and Mqanduli in the OR Tambo District also saw their fair share of senseless killings.
