James Nxumalo, who has recently been appointed as the acting coordinator of the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal, promises to stand up for a series of problems that have dragged on for a long time in Ward 1, KwaXimba.

This follows that the volunteers of this organization from KwaXimba went to the offices of this organization at Dr. Pixley Ka-Isaka Seme House in Durban yesterday with the aim of reporting on the problems that have engulfed the area and the division between the organization in the ward.

Volunteers dressed in the colors of the Congress were singing endlessly outside the offices and some came inside and got to know Nxumalo.

Mr. Siyanda Sithole, who was assigned by the volunteers to go inside, said that there are a lot of concerns that seem to be concentrated in this ward. He said that the bad thing is that things are getting more and more complicated rather than right.

“That’s why today we thought it would be better to just come here and report to this leadership now about the many problems of KwaXimba,” explained Sithole.

He pointed out that they trust the current leadership because the original ones tried in every way to report this scandal but it was just like pouring water on a duck’s back.

Among the problems he said are obvious in this ward, he counted the division within the group as there are those who support the current councillor, Mr. Thembo Ntuli, to be reinstated as councilor and there are those who support the popular businessman in the area, Mr. Bee Khanyile.

He said the worst thing about this dispute is that there are some in the Task Team who have come out and said they are supporting Ntuli, which they say is divisive and unacceptable.

Another problem he said is the slow pace of development which he said seems to be causing a big problem in this area.

Sithole talked about this problem just a few months ago there was a big strike and the community in this area woke up and complained about the many problems that surrounded them.

He said the worst thing is that if things continue this way, the Congress will find themselves facing the prospect of losing this ward because people will eventually lose confidence and choose to vote for another party.

During the meeting, Nxumalo, who was the Mayor of Durban, said that they had heard all the complaints of the KwaXimba Congress volunteers and promised that they would take action as soon as possible.

“We will sit down and discuss this matter in detail. The truth is that we are all children of the same person. We must work together and not have disagreements,” he said.

He said he believes that the many problems surrounding the movement in this area must be resolved as soon as possible before the local government elections on November 4.

He said they do not need division in the Congress because they are facing a very difficult challenge to win back all the wards they lost in the 2024 election.

“This is only possible if we work together and there is no division between us alone,” he said.
