Service delivery protests blocked several Johannesburg roads on Thursday, including Eben Cuyler Drive, Mooki Street, and roads in Noordgesig, Orlando East, and Pennyville, leading to heavy traffic disruptions in the city.
The Soweto Highway between Main and New Canada Roads, and the N17 stretch between the Soweto Highway and the N1 exit, have also been affected.
Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson Xolani Fihla advised drivers to steer clear of the affected areas.
