Another two charges have been added to the case against three men accused of being part of the “Grindr Gang” which allegedly kidnaps and extorts matches on the dating app, the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court heard on Wednesday.

Prosecutor Luzaan Williams and the investigating team have been steadily building their case since the arrests of Mlungisi Vincent Mbutu, Bongani Zulu and Zwelakhe Ngwenya over the Youth Day weekend.

Ngwenya was the last to be arrested as he languished in a yard in Woodstock, Cape Town, with a broken leg after jumping over a wall to escape police officers chasing the three.
