After joining the government of national unity (GNU) at the last minute, Al Jama-ah now wants to persuade its former progressive caucus colleagues, which includes the EFF, to join the unity government.

The caucus is in disarray after the UDM, PAC and Al Jama-ah left, and opted for the ANC-led GNU.

Al Jama-ah plans to have further discussions with parties in the progressive caucus.
