ActionSA Gauteng premier candidate Funzi Ngobeni and chairperson of the party’s Youth Forum, Hluphi Gafane, are believed to have been victims of a hijacking and kidnapping.

According to ActionSA chairperson Michael Beaumont, the two are missing.

It is believed that Ngobeni and Gafane were travelling in a Toyota Hilux when they were attacked in Olievenhoutbosch on Tuesday evening.

“ActionSA leadership works closely with the families, vehicle tracking company, and law enforcement agencies,” said Beaumont.

“Everything that can be done to expedite the safe return of our leaders is being done. I ask that you hold Ngobeni and Gafane and their families in your thoughts and pray for their safe return,” said Beaumont.

The party has promised to provide more information on the matter.

Gauteng police are yet to comment. Their comment will be added once received.
