ActionSA in Tshwane has announced it will be joining the ANC, EFF and ACDP to vote out Mayor Cilliers Brink and by extension, the DA-led multiparty coalition.

The four parties held an impromptu press briefing outside Tshwane House on Thursday afternoon, where the announcement was made.

They said while they have not yet entered into a formal coalition agreement, they would team up to vote Brink out through a motion of no confidence.

Thereafter, discussions will be held about formalising a coalition and who will get the mayoral chain.

If ActionSA, which said it was reviewing its position in the multiparty coalition, join the ANC and EFF, it will have a comfortable majority in the council.

More to follow.
