Shocking reports reveal that more than 200,000 Africans were brutally killed, raped, kidnapped or forced to leave their homes and businesses last year because they were Christians.
These alarming statistics were revealed in a statement sent to the media by the national spokesperson of the organization that sympathizes with the people of Israel, South African Friends of Israel (SAFI), Mr. Bafana Modise.
In this statement it is written that between April 1 last year and March 31 this year, reports have shown that violence against Christians in African countries is increasing.
In SAFI’s first quarter report on the recruitment and abuse of Christians in Africa, the organization confirms that more than 200,000 Christians of African origin were targeted by this scam between April 2025 and March 2026. Modise said that working for companies such as Reuters, Africa Center for Strategic Studies, Open Doors, Vatican News and the US State Department played a major role in compiling the research.
Continuing, Modise said that in this study, 180 Christians were killed by Barnabas Aid in the Middle Belt in Nigeria in April 2025, 200 were killed in Yelwata in Benue State in June 2025, 38 brothers were killed while attending church in Komanda, eastern DRC in July 2025, 20 Christians were killed in Napala in Mozambique in October 2025, two killed in central Nigeria in November 2025, Christian teacher Stephen Musili in Kenya in January 2026 and 17 Christians from Ituri, DRC in March 2026.
These incidents follow the incident that happened on Sunday last year, carried out by Boko Haram militants in North Central Nigeria, where 53 Christians were killed.
“Another horrific incident is the carrying of women who are carried away and forced to marry as a weapon of war. Women and girls are carried away by military forces,” said Modise.
According to the statement of Open Doors’ World Watch this year, between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025, 4,849 Christians were killed for their religion worldwide, 4,491 were killed in Sub-Saharan Africa and another 3,490 were killed in Nigeria alone. Continuing the statement, Reverend Sore from Burkina Faso said that Christians are being deported.
“When terrorists come to churches and find believers praying, they tell them that the time of Christianity is over. So they should flee. Rev. Hamza from Cameroon also agreed with Sore’s words.
