People in the war-torn region of the Middle East are urged to return home.

The Department of International Relations has urged the people of this country to use the small opportunity that has arisen for flights to come home.

The ministry also urged the people of this country to avoid visiting Middle Eastern countries.

It was said that there are more than 6,000 people in this country who have registered that they are in the Middle East region.

The Middle East region is made up of war-affected countries including Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and others. The war continues to escalate in this region.

America and Israel repeatedly attacked Iran. Iran is attacking US military bases in countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

The war disrupted the movement of planes as there were no flights in the region on Sunday.

The spokesperson for the Department of International Relations, Mr. Chrispin Phiri, urged those who traveled in non-urgent circumstances to return home as the flights are still open.

“We would like to inform people that there are a small number of planes that have started working. We urge people to take advantage of this opportunity as the war is expected to continue.”

Phiri urged those who want to return to contact the embassies in the country to get help.

“This will help us plan to bring back the people of this country who are in war-torn countries and cities when it is safe for them to return.”

Phiri called on the warring countries to lay down their weapons.

“South Africa takes this opportunity to repeat the call for all parties involved in the war to exercise self-restraint and not do illegal things. We urge all countries to respect the laws of the United Nations.”

The war started at the weekend when the United States struck in sympathy, killing the leader of Iran, Mr. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

This angered Iran so much, it attacked American military facilities.

Yesterday, the fight was still going on.
