Gauteng traffic air wing officers cornered an unlucky bank robber in Alberton, Johannesburg, minutes before they were rerouted to Tembisa where they foiled a cash-in-transit heist on Wednesday morning.

Spokesperson Ofentse Morwane said officers were alerted of a possible bank robbery at the Capitec bank.

On arrival, officers were informed by the SAPS K-9 unit and CPS Security that the suspect was attempting to escape through the ceiling.
