‘THE buck’s tail has entered the home’ with the promotion of the campaign against illegal immigrants following the rant by Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni who accused those in the nose for destroying the country.

One of the most prominent people in the March and March campaign, Nkosikhona Ndabandaba, known as Phakel’ UmThakathi, has lashed out of the politicians, accusing them of losing the job of leading honestly and distorting the view of the ongoing protests in the country against illegal immigrants.

Phakel’ Umthakathi said this in response to the Minister’s speech at the President’s Office, Ms. Ntshavheni who complained that the government will not stand for the actions of people who invade the country and torture the immigrants in this country, so that their actions even affect those who are in this country but are not of certain races.

“We know that there are people from our country who are being harassed and they are called immigrants because they do not speak the languages spoken by certain people, which eventually goes to the stage where they are harassed and mistreated in the same way as those who are from other African countries who are here in South Africa,” complained the MEC.

This comment by Ntshavheni drew a line with people on social media who accused him of being the one who is sowing discord among the people of this country.

The MEC had commented that these incidents of abuse of immigrants in the country are a way to destabilize the country with the aim of making it ungovernable.

“We must understand that immigrants in this country have come for different reasons, including to work in our country and others who came because they need help and protection in different situations they face in their countries. And it is a well-known fact that even those who come to work or trade in our country, the government makes sure that they follow all the right laws,” said Ms. Ntshavheni.

Responding to that speech, Phakel’ Umthakathi lamented that it is confusing to think and believe that the ongoing protests in the country with the aim of fighting against immigrants in this country is torture and an attempt to create violence and enmity in the country.

Ndabandaba, who met with the Prime Minister of KwaZulu-Natal and members of his council on Friday, pointed out the MEC’s ignorance which makes him speak like this.

“What we are doing now in our country did not start now, we started fighting for peace in our country a long time ago, the only thing we don’t want is that there are people in this country illegally who destroy the dignity of our country with their wrong actions.

“What we don’t want is for someone to just sit where they are, comfortable – and then talk about something they don’t know or understand about the work we are trying to do to improve our country. We cannot fold our hands and watch things deteriorate in the country – we will continue to work hard and fight for peace and unity,” said Phakel’ Umtakhathi.

“The time is over to sit idly by and do nothing while our country is being destroyed every day. Stay silent and see what we are doing to fix our country, or join us to see what we are trying to do,” he said.

He said that people should stop criticizing something they don’t know and have never done anything to try to fix. He stressed that they will continue with the protests they are doing in the country and that they will support organizations like March and March – which have the same vision as theirs.

The leader of the campaign, Ngizwe Mchunu, also lashed out at the MEC – accusing him of misrepresenting the work they are doing to improve the country, accusing him of racially discriminating the Zulu people.

Prime Minister Thami Ntuli and the Mayor of Durban also intervened by meeting with the leaders of the March and March, where it was revealed that these campaigners were not successful in softening the stoppage with protests that caused fear that it could turn into a disaster at any time.
