ALTHOUGH mental enslavement, especially depression, can happen to anyone, but medical research indicates that women are more likely to be in this situation.

A study by health experts indicates that women are twice as likely to suffer from depression, due to the various health conditions they face and the pressure caused by work, taking care of children and so on, which makes the burden on their shoulders very heavy.

Mr. Murray Hewlett, the independent CEO of Affinity Health, commenting on this situation said: “The problem with this is that the state of mind of women and their slavery is often depressed, while the impact of that is very dangerous.”

“That’s why we need to be aware of situations like this and their impact on women, and then we support them in these situations so that they can control themselves, not those who control them,” he said.

Why does stress affect women differently?

This is caused by the way women are created, the way they deal with those who trouble them and other things that have an impact on how they deal with those who abuse them. Another problem is the change in their hormones, especially when they are on their days, pregnant, or still trying to get their health back to normal after giving birth and when they are going through menopause. All of that, when combined with the conditions of their previous life and work, makes the pressure extremely high for them, which can make the body suffer from those conditions.

“All of this stress causes hormonal imbalances, disrupts your sleep patterns, and depletes your energy,” Hewlett said.

The connection between mental stress and fatigue

The type of excessive fatigue called burnout is more than just tiredness, but it is a way for your body to show you how much you are emotionally, mentally and physically exhausted due to discomfort in life. Women, especially those who face the challenge of work, motherhood, taking care of children and looking after homes – are at great risk of being in this situation.

Symptoms of burnout in a person:

  • Chronic fatigue.
  • Irritability and irritability.
  • It’s hard to keep your mind focused on one thing.
  • Not being able to get enough sleep.
  • Loss of motivation to do different things that you used to do.
  • Feeling powerless, unable to do anything.

Here are some common symptoms in women:

  • Being tired all the time and being short-tempered.
  • Loss of motivation to do things you used to do.
  • Loss of appetite and weight loss.
  • Disturbance when sleeping.
  • Feeling guilty, hopeless and worthless.
  • Trouble with headaches, cramps and indigestion.
  • Tired of color.
  • Aversion to being in crowded places.
  • Having thoughts of harming yourself.

Another bad thing about mental stress is that it not only affects your spirit, but ends up affecting your body as well. And women who are constantly stressed by this can have a problem with the immune system, have high blood pressure, and have a problem with pain in some parts of the body that is not normal, a problem with digestion; and also puts them at risk of suffering from chronic diseases. Another thing that tends to aggravate the damage is that even though the symptoms are there, it is easy for a person to think that it is just because of fatigue, which makes them hesitate to seek help immediately.

How can women avoid this situation?

  • Get enough sleep to keep your body and mind strong.
  • Get used to just walking, winded so that the body gets used to being relaxed.
  • Make it a habit to take regular breaks in whatever activity you are doing.
  • Get in the habit of eating healthy foods to help your body stay healthy.

“However, if it is clear that there is no difference even though you try all these things, then it indicates that you need to see a doctor or get help from health professionals who are trained to treat and prevent such conditions,” said Hewlett.
